Your questions answered – about the art, the artist,
and everything in between.

1) About the Art Q: Are all artworks originals? Yes. Each original artwork is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece created by me, David Pher. No two originals are ever the same — each one carries its own rhythm, energy, and emotion. All original artworks are delivered with a signed Certificate of Authenticity, confirming the title, date, and originality of the piece. Q: Do you also offer prints? Yes. I offer several types of fine art prints: Customized prints that are individually hand-finished or personalized, making each one a unique artwork in itself. Limited edition prints, which are numbered and signed, produced in small, carefully controlled editions. Each print type is clearly described in the product details. For more information and available editions, please visit www.pher-prints.com. 2) Materials & Durability Q: What materials do you use, and are the works archival? I work with high-grade acrylic-oil paints and also use chalk and charcoal. Every original is sealed with two coats of professional varnish, providing protection against UV light, dust, dirt, and minor moisture. As with all fine art, please handle with care and avoid direct sunlight or extreme environments. 3) Framing Q: Do the works come framed? Can you recommend frames? Framing can be arranged on request. For clients in Germany, I can have works framed in Berlin; please allow an additional lead time of up to 6 weeks. I generally recommend floater frames (shadow gap frames) — they complement my work’s aesthetics beautifully. 4) Hanging & Care Q: Any tips for hanging and caring for the artwork? Hang it where you feel happiest with it. Practically, avoid hanging too high, steer clear of direct sunlight, and keep away from excess humidity. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth; do not use solvents or sprays. 5) Purchase & Payment Q: Which payment methods are accepted? Currently, I only accept payments via bank transfer. Please understand that this is the most secure and reliable method for both the collector and myself. Once your purchase is confirmed, you will receive all payment details and an invoice. Q: Can I reserve an artwork? Yes. A reservation can be made for up to 24 hours while payment and shipping details are arranged. After reserving, you’ll receive an invoice; the payment window is 5 days. If payment is not received and the buyer becomes unresponsive, I reserve the right to cancel the reservation and offer the work to other collectors. 6) Shipping & Packaging Q: Do you ship internationally? How are works packed? Yes. I ship worldwide with professional art logistics partners. Within Germany, artworks ship stretched on the frame via a specialized art shipper. For international shipments, artworks are sent rolled in a protective tube — this is the simplest, fastest, and safest method for long distances. Professional handlers unmount the canvas, roll it securely, and pack it in a telescopic, impact-protected tube, then ship with DHL Express or UPS. Please note that shipping can take up to 4–6 weeks after payment is received, depending on logistics schedules and partner availability. Since I work with external specialists for rolling, packaging, and transport, each shipment must be individually coordinated to ensure professional handling and timing. Q: Are shipments insured? What if there is damage? All shipments are insured. If you notice any issue, please contact me immediately and document the unboxing on your phone (photos or video). Rolled shipping greatly reduces risk because the works are very securely packed. Q: Can I re-stretch the painting when it arrives? Absolutely. Professional framers in any city can re-stretch the work easily — it’s a standard, straightforward process. Shipping rolled keeps international shipping much faster and far less expensive than sending large pieces already stretched. 7) Returns & Customer Rights Q: Can I return an artwork after receiving it? Yes. You have the right to return the artwork within 14 days of receipt. The courier’s delivery date counts as the official receipt date. Return shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility, and the artwork must be returned in its original condition and packaging. Thank you for understanding that professional packing and handling are essential to protect the work. 8) Commissions & Timeline Q: Do you accept commissioned works? How long do they take? Yes. I accept selected commissions. Depending on scope and scheduling, a commissioned work can take up to 6 months. We’ll align on concept, size, palette, and timeline before I begin. 9) Prints of Sold Originals Q: Will you create prints after an original has sold? I may create prints at my discretion. Originals are delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity. Any potential prints (custom or limited editions) are a separate format and remain my right to publish. 10) Licensing Q: Can we license your artwork (merchandise, publications, branding)? Yes, on a case-by-case basis and only with prior written agreement. Please contact the studio to discuss scope, term, and territory. 11) Exhibitions, Viewing & Studio Visits Q: Where can I see your work in person? My works are shown worldwide. Please check the Exhibitions page for current and upcoming shows. Q: Do you offer studio visits in Berlin? Yes, by appointment only. Please get in touch to schedule a visit. 12) Galleries & Institutional Projects Q: Do you work with galleries? Are public/corporate projects possible? Yes. I collaborate with galleries and I’m open to public and corporate commissions or installations by arrangement. Contact: info@david-pher.com 13) Availability & Destinations Q: Do you sell worldwide? Yes — I sell worldwide except to destinations listed on applicable German or EU sanctions lists. 14) Taxes, VAT & Invoices Q: Is tax (VAT) included? Prices include VAT where applicable (for Germany and EU orders). For orders outside the EU, VAT may not apply — your local import VAT or duties are separate (see Customs below). All purchases include a formal invoice. 15) Customs & Import Duties (Important) Q: Who pays customs, duties, and import VAT? Customs duties, import VAT, and brokerage fees are not included in my prices or invoices and are the buyer’s responsibility. Regulations vary by country and change frequently, so please check your local customs rules before purchasing. I cannot provide country-specific duty quotes or tax advice and am unable to influence customs processing in your country.
